psychotherapy diploma
Do you not see how necessary a world of pains and troubles is to school an Intelligence and make it a soul? John Keats
aims of the training
These focus on developing the therapist's capacity to:
- step outside frames of 'what is wrong' and explore what troubles the soul
- use mythology as a source for placing clients’ history
- work with a soulful perspective on psychopathology
- utilise counter-transference within the therapeutic field
- link intuition and imagination with practical craft
- use alchemical metaphors and imagery to understand unconscious processes
- work with shadow material
- understand issues of power and abuse in therapy
The two year post-diploma training is intended to deepen previous training to establish a psychotherapeutic basis for long term work with clients. It is an integrative approach which draws on Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Psychosynthesis, Jungian and Archetypal schools. It involves considerable theoretical and practical study while at the same time being a training in creative integration which opens windows to soul. Entry to the post-diploma is open to suitably qualified counsellors from outside of re•vision.
"This is an organisation that carefully nurtures each student gradually empowering them till they reach a point were they feel fully equipped both professionally and personally to function as responsible psychotherapists." HIPS assessment panel
selection criteria
Applications for the post-diploma course are invited from qualified counsellors and psychotherapists with at least 200 hours client practice. We attempt to honour a practitioner's previous training through an APL procedure. Applicants should have completed a BACP recognised course and have covered equivalent ground to re•vision's three-year counselling diploma. Application needs to include a written case study and a supervisor's report together with evidence of having completed equivalent theoretical and practical training.
Those not graduating from Re•Vision will need to complete the Conversion Course.
Those without an equivalent background may be asked to complete some aspects of the counselling training. This will be discussed at an individual interview. Acceptance into the final year of the Psychotherapy Diploma is dependent on successful completion of Stage IV.
